November 2023 Pizza and Positivity Recap

TESU/NJSL WPN is proud to host our Pizza and Positivity quarterly event series! This is a regular opportunity for WPN members to gather, hang out, and get to know each other.  Each event has a different theme and a fun activity, but there is always Café Antonio pizza and salad to be enjoyed!

Our last Pizza and Positivity event was held on November 21st and the event theme was Create and Give Thanks.  In celebration of Thanksgiving, members of the Program Committee brought some of their favorite holiday desserts!  These included:  a nearly completely devoured lemon Bundt from Nothing Bundt Cakes, Thanksgiving cupcakes, cherry and pumpkin pies, and Rice Krispy treats. In addition, attendees brought in non-perishable food donations for the Arm in Arm food bank.

The icebreaker question “What Has to Go:  Stuffing or Mashed Potatoes?” generated some interesting responses.  Some people didn’t really like either and thought both could go, while others had strong opinions on which one should be kept.  Sacred family recipes and techniques were shared (the recipes and techniques involved butter, lots of butter, regardless of the dish).  One table proposed serving French Fries as an alternative to mashed potatoes.  Since this is a hot button issue sure to cause debate (unlike the indisputable fact that WPN members greatly enjoy lemon bundt cake), we are eager to hear further opinions on the subject at tesuacenet@tesu.edu

Finally, replete with pizza, salad, and desserts, WPN members created and decorated their very own hand turkeys.  Through these holiday crafts, members shared what they were grateful for this season.

Our next Pizza and Positivity event will be held Tuesday February 20th at noon.  We are sure to have pizza, but we don’t yet have a theme or activity.  We welcome any suggestions of event themes, fun activities, or icebreaker questions from WPN members!  Please e-mail us with any suggestions, and we look forward to seeing you for pizza and fun in February!
